I have translated much of the content of my blog posts over the years from German source materials such as books, newspaper articles, and Internet sources. Using this experience as a base, I began a cottage industry in German-to-English translation with my specialized knowledge in the performing and fine arts, history, tourism and travel, literature, correspondence (including handwritten letters in Sütterlin and Fraktur), general business and advertising, and general law.
I am a member of the American Translators Association, the Deutschen Verband der freien Übersetzter und Dolmetcher, and the Certified Pro Network at the translation website Proz.com, where I maintain an online profile.
A few sample translations for your perusal:
- A description of villages at the the Paschberg Homepage.
- An interview with Brigitte Fassbaender, originally published in German.
- A post about the local Tyrolean legend of the Irrwurzel.
