Flat

Firefox 29, like Apple Mavericks, the new Twitter profile page, ios 7, the “new” Facebook timeline, and (so I’ve heard) Chrome, has gone with the “flat look”. Why this is the new thing is beyond me. And with every update I need a new plug-in to bring my tabs back down below the menu bar, where I want them.

I miss Steve Jobs’ taste in design.

Addendum: It could be worse. The US Government is urging people to stop using Internet Explorer for the time being, as a bug in the browser allows hackers full access to your infected computer. And especially not together with Windows xp, which Microsoft  now no longer supports.
