Happy American Thanksgiving

IMG_0831For your enjoyment: a kind of Bavarian brunch fare, Weisswurst with a Brezel. They are traditionally eaten in the morning, due to the fact that they are not made with preservatives and will go bad by the end of the day. Or so says Wikipedia.

By the way, these in the photo above are made of marzipan. A little Bavarian souvenir.

Fröhlicher Erntedank
Zur Unterhaltung, einen Art bayerischer Frühstücksverpflegung. Weißwurst mit Brezel. Sie werden traditionell am Vormittag verspeist, da sie ohne Koservierungsmittel hergestellt sind und im Laufe des Tages ungenießbar werden (“a Weißwurscht darfs Mittagsgleut nit gehört haben” — Ed.)
Übrigens  – diese hier sind aus Marzipan – ein bayrisches Souvenir.

    Wait a second… you’re supposed to eat wurst with a pretzel and radishes in the morning.. but these are sweets?

    Indeed. Packs more easily in tourists’ bags as a gift for the folks back home, I presume!
