Oh, Good Grief…

Supermarkets in Germany already have the Christmas Lebkuchen out for sale. The Beau, seeing this, asked the cashier why they still didn’t have any Stollen out, at this late a date. Unfortunately it went right over her head.

Update: Four days later, they now have Christmas Stollen as well.

Back to School stuff in July, Halloween stuff in September, Christmas IMMEDIATELY after Halloween… and sometimes before… All a plea to buy more stuff, please. And since Christmas is where stores usually make their money, Christmas will soon be year round. You really need those Christmas cookies(?) right now. Buy three….

Gingerbread and cookies. The fact that they come onto the shelves so early is just more motivation to keep making my own. How many preservatives must be pumped into that stuff?

100% preservatives! Will never age or go bad! Eat now and become eternal… so you can keep buying this wonderful gingerbread..

yeah, yeah, yeah – I just found some years ago a christmas box with toys for cats in a petshop. In June. I admit, I love Lebkuchen. I don’t want the christmas Lebkuchen in August or September. But I eat Kastner-Lebkuchen during the whole year or the selfmade “Schnittlebkuchen”. They are not in the christmas look so they are quite OK. Look, http://www.kastner-austria.at/?page_id=115 they are really delicious. Maybe not, if there’s something over 30 degrees.
