Coincidentally, a chain e-mail from an older relative found its way to my inbox this morning, talking about all the changes made since 1911, one hundred years ago, and asking at the end how will life look 100 years from now.
The answer is not as rosy as she expects. Within the next 100 years, the last of the perma-frost will have melted, the oceans will be completely poisoned, the casings for the first nuclear waste will have begun to break down, all the accessible oil will be gone and clean water from privately-owned reservoirs will cost a small fortune. This is where we are headed.
