In This Case, Making It Public Is Enough

Remember the baker near Vienna with the Nazi cakes?

The Mauthausen Committee has dropped the charges without official explanation. It has been assumed that, since the activity is not recent (and there are no records on file indicating just who bought any of them), Wiederbetätigung (a word recognized as meaning re-engagement in National Socialist activities, a criminal offense) would be a hard charge to make stick.

While I would not want to give this guy my business, knowing that his moral compass seems to point to Opportunist, I agree that one shouldn’t waste legal resources on him. It certainly doesn’t sound as if he is part of the scene and could help with further prosecutions of bigger fish. In the end, it’s a cake decoration.
