>This is the Kalvarienberg, or Calvary, a kind of small artificial-looking hill in the foothills between the river and the Alps. The structures you see on the front of the hill are supports to keep the earth from eroding away. The chapel atop it was built in 1665.
To no one’s surprise, ground work recently turned up Bronze Age and Roman artifacts, which are now housed in the parsonage museum.

  1. >I was in DC that day, and EVERYONE took the high road as President Obama would have wanted, but I have to say seeing him flying overhead, leaving, was a joyous sight. (That’s the high road, isn’t it?)
