Garden Blogging, It’s Almost Spring

IMG_1160Crocuses and tulips both got a jolt from all the sunshine.

It’s nice to have a bit of green coming up already.

Wow, your tomato plants are outside already? Our ground is still frozen! Plus the forecast includes freezing rain :(

Do you think if I buy some crocus seeds from the supermarket now, they will still grow up? I am living in France.

Ooh, I don’t know. But the Beau is planting Hiacinths now, he puts the bulbs in water and covers them so they are in the dark for a while first. They bloom quickly indoors, and smell very nice!

Thank you! I’ll give it a try!

Envious that you’ve had predictable seasons, California actually missed winter completely. (Two days with a little frost, maybe two good rains and that’s it so far.) Serious fifth year of drought coming up. We may have to not water ANYTHING outside, depending on how our rainy season goes. My winter veggies have bolted to seed. I’m hesitating on whether I can plant for summer harvest or not….
